President Biden has proposed a new law allowing illegal entrants into the USA to be eligible for work authorizations, later green cards, and possible eventual citizenship. It is expected to go into law at the end of summer 2024. The current pending requirements are as follows: Initially called a “parole in place" application process. Illegally entered the U.S.A. and is probably eligible if they have only one illegal entry. Must provide proof that applicant lived in the U.S.A. for ten consecutive years before June 17, 2024. Proof of marriage to a U.S. citizen with no time frame for that marriage. Have three years to apply for a green card, Will be eligible for temporary work authorization. Will require translation of any needed foreign language documents. Will require a criminal background check (biometrics). USCIS filing fees still need to be determined.
